CHANGE HAPPENS THROUGH MOVEMENT AND MOVEMENT HEALS

JOSEPH PILATES

Pilates Therapy

This is where we integrate a unique set of skills. We start by assessing the body from the feet up. With the use of muscle testing and screening which a physiotherapist or osteopath might use, we assess the whole body through movement, as well as breathing. From this, we can gain an objective picture and understanding of what each individual person’s body is doing.

Often pain is referred, and treating the area of pain doesn’t necessarily solve the root cause of the problem. Depending on what we find, we may offer treatment or we may move straight onto a set of Pilates exercises to correct any imbalances we find. We will recommend a course of action which will include release of certain muscles and Pilates exercises to strengthen where needed.

All of our Pilates Therapists have hands-on skills such as trigger point or massage, kinesiology taping, and are insured to handle clients which not all Pilates teachers are qualified to do. We aim for our clients never to never leave our studio without some relief of pain or improvement in function.

If you’d like to book a session with one of our Pilates Therapists, please feel free to get in touch!
